A Bit About Me

Hi!  My name is Connie and I am A Ruby Reduction.  My Grandmother Ruby loved to cook, bake and share these wonderful gifts with family.  It is from my Grandmother that I developed a passion for the kitchen, and from her I learned that the gift of food is one of the best gifts of all.

There is nothing I love better than to cook dinner, bake some desserts and then invite friends over for a great night of good food and conversation (and, of course, some red wine).

So, I have been thinking about starting a food blog for a while.  One night a few weeks ago, my husband, Jamie, and I were out with friends, and I was going on and on and on about a new recipe that I had found, how I wanted to try it, and what I would serve with it.  It was at that time a unanimous decision was made: I would start a blog to share this insane passion for food with my friends.

I say an insane passion, because I think and talk about food all the time.  While we are having dinner, I am talking about what I want to have for breakfast.  While we are cooking breakfast, I am planning out my lunch.  While we are prepping vegetables, I am asking Jamie what he feels like eating tomorrow!  I love looking through cookbooks and I am a real sucker for grocery store check out cooking magazines!

My favourite places (besides the kitchen) are grocery stores, any Farmer’s Market and bake shops (yummy!).

I love to cook and bake, however, I probably lean a bit more towards baking because who doesn’t love a good cookie? (And the occasional taste of cookie dough!)

So, I hope you will join me on my journey…

Connie
