After a bit of an inner struggle, I have decided to take a few weeks off from blogging. I need to take some time to find new recipes and re-charge my batteries. I have been busy training for a 5km Spartan Sprint in mid-June, and because of this, I haven’t been spending a lot of time experimenting with new recipes. My diet has consisted of salads and eggs, and that really isn’t exciting enough to share.
It is funny the pressures that we put on ourselves. Friday marked my 150th blog post. This (I feel) is a great accomplishment, but instead of celebrating this milestone, I was stressing about when I would find time to look for and prepare a new recipe this weekend for today’s post. The pressure that I am feeling is entirely self-induced. There is no editor standing behind me asking for a copy of my next post. I don’t get paid by the word. No, these pressures are just there.
I am passionate about my blog and sharing my stories with all of you. I still want to tell you stories about recipes, family and friends. So, I am taking a bit of time to re-charge, re-focus and get inspired. Some of the things I am going to focus on are: Finding new recipes to share; learning how to use my Smartphone; and how can I incorporate this technology into Ruby Reduction. I may even change the format and style.
Change is coming. My break won’t be long; I will be back after the Spartan Race to share with you tales of mud, walls and barbed wire. Am I wrong that I think that this race is going to be fun? I feel like it is going to be recess for adults, and that feels like fun. And really, who doesn’t like to get dirty and run around with friends?
I will still be active on Twitter. So if you want to stop by and say hi, you can find me @Ruby_Reduction.
Enjoy these last few weeks of spring and I will be back with more musings before the end of June.
