I know you are wondering why I am posting another pumpkin recipe. I mean it is spring time, not the fall, however, after whipping up a batch of Pumpkin Maple Muffins; I had to find something else to do with the leftover pumpkin that was sitting in the fridge.

This week I received a birthday gift from my good friend Kim. Kim is a fellow food blogger (Strawberry Ginger) and actually inspired me to stop talking about starting a food blog and to actually start writing!
For my birthday, she bought me the coolest gift ever, an actual stock certificate for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia! Once I received it in the mail, I immediately went out looking for the perfect frame. It is now hanging in the kitchen! Awesome!!

This post is for my good friend Jeff. When I started the blog he asked me if I would post a recipe that didn’t turn out. Well Jeff, this recipe was a bust!
Let me start off by saying that it is no reflection on the recipe itself. I just seemed to have a hard time following the instructions that were in front of me while I was preparing these Blondies

I love coffee! This wasn’t always the case, and I feel that it definitely is a flavour that you start to appreciate as your tastebuds mature. I tend to lean towards flavoured coffee, which is what makes up my entire Keurig collection. In fact, my favourite coffee flavour combination is mocha (half coffee/half hot chocolate) Yummy!

I have been seeing a lot of recipes showing up that call for the use of avocado. The only way I have ever had avocado is in guacamole or tossing it in a salad. I was intrigued by the possible versatility of this ingredient.

It started out as any other Sunday. Jamie and I were planning out our meals for the week, and we were getting ready to spend another fabulous day in the kitchen. Then Jamie made a suggestion to make some home-made hamburgers for dinner. This was a great idea, since we haven’t had home-made burgers since Super Bowl Sunday when Jamie whipped up a batch of sliders.

When my nephew, Sam, comes to Ottawa for a visit, I want to make sure that his visit is filled with yummy treats. While his parents entice him with healthy fare like veggies and chicken, I feel it is my duty as Auntie Connie to present him with fun food options like cookies, cake and ice cream 🙂

I love lemon. Our apartment is filled with lemon scented candles, I wear lemon scented perfume, I love lemon. It is amazing that I love this fruit so much, yet I have never, ever made a lemon meringue pie. Actually I have made very few pies, I am a bit nervous about pastry (and as you will see, I still haven’t made it) but that will change this year, I promise!

Today the role of guest foodie will be played by Connie’s sister, Cherie.
I am constantly looking for healthy recipes and ways to make not-so-healthy foods healthier. I am known for adding protein powder to just about anything, and sneaking veggies in where they don’t belong – or so I am told 🙂
Unlike my sister, I tend to avoid cooking with Bacon, much to my husband’s dismay. I was excited when Connie sent me a link to a recipe for cookie dough balls; which are healthier than they sound.

I have mentioned before how I love getting supermarket check-out cooking magazines. Well, I once again gave into my impulse and grabbed the January/February issue of The Food Network Magazine. The cover featured a delicious bowl of chili that caught my eye.
