I have mentioned before how I love getting supermarket check-out cooking magazines. Well, I once again gave into my impulse and grabbed the January/February issue of The Food Network Magazine. The cover featured a delicious bowl of chili that caught my eye.

Bacon Wrapped Almond Stuffed Dates
These are little bites of heaven, and I thought that they would be the perfect recipe to share leading up to Valentine’s Day. You may be asking yourself why, and the answer is simple, I love bacon, so this is kind of like a Valentine’s treat for myself 🙂
Pork Chops with Port and Cherry Sauce (Port Chops)
I don’t prepare pork chops very often. I am a big fan of pork tenderloin, but for some reason I avoid pork chops in the grocery store. As part of my new recipe a week resolution, I thought I would give pork chops another chance.
Spinach Bacon Cheese Balls
A few weeks ago we were over at Kim and Ryan’s for an amazing dinner. Kim surprised Jamie with an über delicious Triple BerryCrumble for his birthday. As part of the menu for the evening, Kim made these delicious Spinach Balls. They were very tasty and we ate them all before dinner was served.
Maple Ginger Glazed Salmon
There are times when you are in the grocery store and you see a frozen item on sale that is a really good buy. It might be an item that you normally don’t purchase frozen, but it seems too good to pass up. This is what happened with a 4 pack of frozen salmon filets. It was a great deal, but, every time I opened up the freezer, I was never interested in preparing them. I just kind of felt like they were taking up valuable space where I could keep additional packages of bacon 🙂 or maybe Tupperware containers filled with excess cookies!
Peanut Butter and Jam Chicken
In fulfilling my New Years Resolution, I grabbed a cookbook off the shelf in the search of a new chicken soup recipe. As I was turning the pages PB&J Chicken caught my eye. Did that just say what I think it did? When I flipped back I was surprised and intrigued. Peanut Butter and Jam Chicken? Well, I like peanut butter, I like jam and I like chicken, so I had to see how this was going to turn out!
Roasted Carrots and Brussels Sprouts
I find something very comforting about roasted vegetables. I love how a hearty, meaty vegetable turns soft and luxurious when it has been roasted to perfection in the oven. It really represents the winter months when you turn on your oven and find yourself roasting or baking most of your meals.
Madras Beef Curry
My New Year’s Resolution this year was one new recipe a week. I have a lot of cookbooks, and I often look through them as if they were novels, but I have a hard time following recipes. I always add a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Not that it is a bad thing, but I thought maybe I should try to follow some recipes as they are written this year 🙂
